Diabetes Solutions of Oklahoma – Oklahoma City, Okla

Diabetes Solutions of Oklahoma is a non-profit organization. Our mission is to improve the lives of people with diabetes in Oklahoma and to reduce the incidence of diabetes and its complications through education. Diabetes Solutions of Oklahoma was founded as a result of statewide discussions on diabetes needs in Oklahoma. The goal is to combine the energy and knowledge of many organizations that are fighting diabetes and allow them to achieve extraordinary results that none could achieve alone. United as a community, Diabetes Solutions is fulfilling many needs of those who have diabetes.

Loving Soles, Inc. - San Antonio, TX

Loving Soles was formed by two young ladies, Jessica Falknor and Haley Millis from Sugar Land, Texas in 2008. They met in high school and formed a very strong friendship. After traveling to Mexico with a medical mission; they decided to do something to improve the lives of the less fortunate throughout the world. A kind business man from Arizona was searching for some charitable organization to donate new shoes. The timing was perfect and 8000 pairs of shoes were donated to Loving Soles.

As of today, Loving Soles has distributed shoes in Texas and in Mexico. After hurricane Ike hit the Galveston coast, children were digging shoes from the sand in order go to school. Loving Soles received the school's call for help and several hundreds pairs of shoes were donated. A Houston psychiatric clinic also requested shoes for their troubled teenagers. Again Loving Soles graciously donated several hundred shoes to these teenagers. Other donations have been made to indigent clinics around the San Antonio area. This past Christmas, Loving Soles participated in a party donating shoes to the less fortunate along the Texas border.

With the help of financial donations and volunteers, Loving Soles hopes to continue helping the less fortunate and those affected by natural disasters.

For the Love of a Mother’s Child – Austin, Tx

For the Love of a Mother's Child is an independent, philanthropic organization dedicated to aiding homeless mothers and their children build better lives by providing guidance, donated necessities, housing and child care assistance, vocational support, academic and computer tutoring, as well as by facilitating parenting classes and transportation accommodations, all of which will promote family unity, autonomy, and the development of self-awareness and self-responsibility. This assistance will lift generations out of poverty and afford them a better quality of life, empowering them emotionally, academically, and financially while enabling them to locate and maintain permanent housing and self-sufficiency.
